NORDIC TEAM HEAD COACH JOB DESCRIPTION
Department: LWSC Nordic Team
Employment Dates: Year-round
Status: Part Time (750 – 1000 hours annually), non-exempt
Work Hours: Variable
Work Days: Weekdays and weekends
Work Locations: LWSC venues and offsite as required
Wage: $18-20 per hour
Reports To: LWSC General Manager & The Ski Education Director
This is an active coaching position whose focus is to set goals for the entire team, develop coaching programs and coordinate coaches across the program to ensure consistency of teaching and message across the program. This position also functions as Lead coach for the Senior group of Nordic skiers.
Ski-season practices are held primarily at LWSC facilities; however; during the early season, late season and in years with poor snow conditions practices may be held at the Stevens Nordic Center, Plain Valley Ski Trails or other venues as available.
Off-season practices may be held at a variety of locations, from Wenatchee (the “Loop”) to our LWSC multi-use trails and local hiking trails.
Experience / Requirements
• The nature of this position requires working outdoors, sometimes in adverse conditions.
• Must make a strong effort to attend all scheduled practices. If you are unable to make a practice session you need to find a suitable substitute coach (SafeSport or equivalent is required, even of parents or other volunteers).
